HBO's stunning new series, The Gilded Age, shot by Vanja Cerjul, ASC, and Manuel Billeter, boasts visuals as opulent and expansive as the city and era it portrays.
(ICG Magazine Cover, Feb-March 2022) Billeter, who shot a four-episode block with Richarson-Whitfield, credits Cernjul with finding subtle but effective ways to distinguish the two social landscapes. "We used Cooke 2X anamorphic lenses for the 'Old New York' scenes [with the Panasonic VariCan Pure 4K]," Billeter recounts, "as the anamorphic glass provided that hit of romance and nostalgia..."
